LG 47LM4600 Is a Newbie on The Scene – Will It Deliver?

The lowest LG 47LM4600 Amazon price at the moment is around $600, which for a 47” Class Cinema 3D 1080p 120Hz LED/LCD TV, certainly deserves some respect and consideration. The LG 47LM4600 was launched at the beginning of December 2012, just in time for Christmas and is still finding its feet in the world of electronics. Other reviews are still also pending to pass judgement and it will take a few months more to discover the true potential of the LG 47LM4600. However, from our initial tests and surfing the net for other reviews from reputable sites, we can safely say that the LG 47LM4600 so far passes the test with flying colours. It is probably one of the better sets we’ve ever tested for 3D quality, and we have never been known to think much of 3D anyway, so that’s a feather in the cap for LG right there! Its image quality is outstanding and we will shortly go through some great features which makes the LG 47LM4600 stand out.

Slim and lightweight seem to be terms which compound the ever-growing obesity epidemic. It is not always nice to hear these terms, even in technology, when you are struggling to contain them within your own bodies! Still, it sounds good and it appeals to the masses, which must be positive. Design is definitely one of the highlights of LG and features are just waiting to be revealed in all their splendour. The LG 47LM4600 comes equipped with 8 preset picture modes, smart energy saving, an Intelligent Light Sensor, 3 HDMI ports, 1 PC input, 1 USB port and TruMotion 120Hz technology. There are 4 sets of 3D glasses included and the stand swivels to its heart’s content. Believe you me, this swivel stand bears weight compared to many of LG’s competitors!


Boom Boom One of the Only Cons We Could Find

When speaking about positive aspects of the LG 47LM4600 we were hard pressed to find any flaws. One important factor we deem highly when it comes to TV’s is its sound capability. Unfortunately, this must be the only slightly negative point to highlight in an otherwise stupendous model. However, this can easily be remedied by investing in a cheap home cinema surround system. It does not feature internet streaming, either, which can be frustrating but, again, many solutions may be found to compensate for these shortcomings. However, when referring to picture quality in both 2D and 3D, with a contrast rate of 4,000,000:1, you will not find blacker blacks or whiter whites anywhere else.

German Technology At Its Best

Whoever said that German technology is top of the range was correct and the LG 47LM4600 is living (well, sort of!) proof of this. To get the best out of its 3D feature, LG have included a depth control setting, which allows you to obtain even better definitions and to visualise and experience 3D as you would expect it to, but even more. For fast-moving scenes, such as sports and action movies, you can also benefit from the TruMotion 120Hz technology. This option transmits fluidity and clarity during such scenes and gives you the impression that you are actually part of it. This is the power of the LG 47LM4600. It absorbs the user into the picture and makes them feel like an integral component. You will have problems dragging the kids away from this one!
